Recovery of Shortgrass Communities on Areas Killed by White Grubs (LT30)

Objective: To evaluate effects of soil texture and grazing on recovery of shortgrass communities on areas killed by white grubs.  

Methods: Areas have been resampled in 1978, 1979, 1980,1982,1990. Plant cover and density by species estimates for quadrats on 4 transects at each grub kill.  

Study Area: 7W: Inside & outside of exclosure 19NW: Inside & outside of exclosure 23E: Inside & outside of exclosure, east of watershed in SW corner. ESA (21SW): West of water + nitrogen and north of small mammal exclosures. 7E: Inside & outside of exclosure 8NE: Inside & outside of exclosure 17N: West of exclosure
